"Lampmaker"
Jon is a full-time Maui resident - retired, but following a new creative path making unique stone and exotic wood table lamps.
Jon grew up in Seattle, received degrees from the University of Washington (Economics) and Stanford (MBA) and then spent the next nine years overseas (Ethiopia - university teaching; Peru, Jamaica and Brazil - resort development). Returning to Seattle, Jon was a partner and president of Wright Runstad & Company (high-rise and high-tech office and medical building development) until retirement.
While building his home in Wailea, Jon designed a number of interior elements including designing and making lamps for the bedrooms and common areas. This initial effort then became a craft hobby and now a small business venture.
Jon is also an accomplished tennis player, master swimmer and jazz and classical piano player.
